Welcome to SEBBL Pony League
The Pony league is planning to play in a combined league with Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights, Mayfield Heights, Cleveland Heights and Beachwood. This will provide our teams a chance to play different teams on a variety of fields making the experience more enjoyable. The details are still being worked out and will be posted as soon as they are available. (Note: There is also a discussion regarding the allowable weight and sizes of bats. We will post this information as well.
The Pony League is open to all residents of South Euclid that are 13 and 14 years of age. (Please see our registration page for Pony league age requirements and fees)
- Our season traditionally runs from late May through Mid July.
- The State of Ohio High School Rules and a combination of South Euclid manager guidelines and the other involved cities, govern rules of play. (Check out the new links under the “HOME” tab above, click on the “FILES MENU” select “NEW PONY RULES” and you can view and print our rules. Also from the “”FUN”" tab above. Click on “LINKS” then “Ohio Athletic Association” link for loads of interesting information and rules for all High School sports.

- Spikes can not be metal.
Frequently asked Questions:
- Our home games are played mostly at 6:00 or 8:15 PM at Jim Gray Field.(Formerly Quarry North) We do not schedule more than 3 games per week per team and mostly only 2 games. Jim Gray Field is located just North of Monticello off of South Belvoir. ( Click on the “MAP” tab above for directions) Jim Gray Field has bleachers and rest room facilities.Away games will be played at designated cities fields.
- Rain games or make up games are generally made up the following Saturday during the home team’s scheduled practice periods. Our games are 7 innings or played to a 2-hour time limit if another game is scheduled following. We do have a 10 run “Mercy” rule that applies when a team is down by 10 or more runs after either 4 ½ or 5 innings.
- A team will forfeit if they do not have a minimum of 8 players at game time. A 15-minute “Grace Period” is allowed. Ties are ½ win & ½ loss.
The Field
- Bases are 80 feet apart. Lead offs & Stealing are permitted. (If you’re quick)
- Pitching distance is 54 feet from the point of home plate to the leading edge of the pitching rubber. Pitchers can only pitch 7 innings in a given game and are only permitted to pitch a maximum of 10 innings in a given week. Our weeks are defined as 12:01 Am. Monday to Midnight the following Sunday. This is for the protection of our pitchers.

- The Goal of the Pony league and SEBBL is to play competitive Baseball and to be respectable representatives of our City while having a lot of fun.
- REMEMBER SEYSBA is a “VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION” Please contact us if you would be interested in Managing, Coaching, helping out as the all important Team Administrator or sponsoring a team.
REMINDERS
- Each team supplies 1 new ball at each game (RPLB). Recommend each team have a “best” used ball (RPLB) available as well.
- Each team pays one of the umpires at each game (Note: If only 1 umpire they get 1 ½ of the regular rate shown below and each team pays ½ of that amount).
- Winning team to call-in/email score and number of umpires at the game to Lyndhurst Director within 24 hours. Standings will be available on LDC web site (www.lyndhurstdadsclub.com).
- If enough innings are played for the game to be “official”, the game can end in a tie with teams credited with ½ win and ½ loss. These tied games will not be continued later or replayed.
- Home team is listed 1st on the schedule (i.e. 1-3, 2-4, etc.).
- Games may only be rescheduled because of weather conditions, school conflicts, or tournament conflicts. Teams can “call-up” players when needed to avoid forfeits….PLAY THE GAMES !
NOTE: WHEN RESCHEDULING YOU NEED TO CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE CITY DIRECTOR TO
CANCEL & FOR FIELD AVAILABILITY & UMPIRES FOR THE RESCHEDULED GAME.
- STANDINGS TIE BREAKERS are (1) Head-to-Head Game Results, (2) Fewest Runs Given Up During The Season, (3) Most Runs Scored During The Season, and (4) Coin Flip.
- Umpire fees, per umpire (2 scheduled), are as follows; BE SURE TO CHECK THE RATE YOU OWE FOR THE CITY YOU ARE PLAYING IN !!
